Annual Compliance Requirements for Property Owners with Advanced Treatment Units

The Ottawa Septic System Office sends annual reminders to property owners with advance treatment units who require annual maintenance agreements for their system.

  • If you have already submitted your maintenance contract to us for 2021 — thank you! A confirmation response will be sent to you and no further follow-up is required.
  • If you still need to submit your maintenance contract to us, please follow the two steps below and contact us if you have any questions or if we can be of any assistance:
  1. Contact your septic system service provider to renew your maintenance contract.
  2. Provide a copy of this contract to the Ottawa Septic System Office by mail or email (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) by June 30, 2021.

The Ottawa Septic System Office (OSSO) is required by the province to ensure all advanced treatment system owners have valid and current maintenance agreements. This is under Division B 8.9.2.3 of the Ontario Building Code.
